SAP MDM & MDG Lead Summary

Baillie Lumber Co. is seeking an experienced SAP MDM & MDG Lead; the ideal candidate is a subject matter expert across the areas of data management, data governance, organization design and development, and change management. This person will be seen as a SAP technical data leader.

SAP MDM & MDG Lead General requirements:

  • Fundamental knowledge, concepts, practices and procedures of data management; ability to work closely with other Functional Consultants, Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Information Architects and Security Architects
  • Hands-on experience leading data definitions development, data quality improvements, data model updates, and solving efforts of the analytics projects and collaborating with cross functional teams comprised of client groups, project teams and IT organizations
  • Develop and define standards, guidelines, data assessment, data clean up and the data migration strategy leveraging industry best practices.
  • Ability to understand and address Master Data Quality Issues.
  • Act as the integration layer between business and technology teams to deliver a seamless solution.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation and provide appropriate communications for responsibilities assigned.
  • Data Modeling Experience preferred
  • Good understanding of data warehousing and data integration concepts

SAP MDM & MDG Lead Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of MDG Cloud, Master Data Integration
  • Knowledge of Implementation in Cloud & hybrid landscapes
  • Experience in SAP MDG mass processing, consolidation, central governance
  • Previous work experience may include working tools like SAP MDG, IBM Infosphere MDM, Informatica MDM
  • Responsible for leading the successful design and delivery of SAP Data Management solutions
  • Partner with data stewards, sponsors, and stakeholders to implement business processes and policies that will support a successful MDM roll out and ongoing program sustainment.
  • Provide strategic guidance with respect to MDG best practices, MDG data profiling and integration.
  • Experience in MDG configuration of Business Partner (Customer, Vendor)
  • Lead and drive implementation team and facilitate them on integration and solution definition for the SAP MDM and MDG
  • Provide architecture recommendations, options, and pros/cons on potential changes to SAP MDM initiatives and functional solutions
  • Responsible for developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions primarily using the SAP S4/HANA product suite.
  • Reviewing, refining, and approving all Core Data Services (CDS) developed by team.
  • Assessing business requirements and working with SAP Functional resources to recommend field usage to meet business needs.
  • Mentoring junior resources engaged in all data development activities; company and plant deployments, integrations with other platforms, and EDI development.
  • Strong exposure to Data/ Process modelling, UI Design, Derivations, Duplicate Data checks, Rule-based Workflow (BRF Plus)
  • Good understanding replication framework with Data transfer, ALE/IDOC, Key & value mapping, MDG Export & import master data and conversion of master data
  • Excellent understanding of SAP S4 and SAP MDG capabilities

SAP MDM & MDG Lead Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred, preferably in Computer Science or Business
  • At least 5 years of experience in data management (preferably in SAP)
  • 1 full SAP implementation with SAP master data conversion
  • Experience working at least 2 modules with SAP FI/CO, MM, SD, PP or TM Master Data, required.
  • SAP MDG Certification is nice to have
  • Understanding of database constructs such and systems such as RDBMS, and SAP HANA.
  • Knowledge of SAP S4 schema a plus.
  • Experience with a Data Governance or Data Quality toolset
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Knowledge of trends and issues for data
  • Knowledge of leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Understanding of data quality reporting methodologies and capabilities
  • Desire to learn and stay current on data governance and data management industry trends
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Possesses strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Can articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Superior problem-solving abilities; applies good judgement
  • Can work effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • Ability to negotiate and influence
  • Flexible; embraces change, possesses a positive attitude and have ability to prioritize issues
